Welcome back everyone to Term 3! We hope you are well rested and have had a fabulous holiday period with family and friends. NAIDOC Week 2025 fell in the holidays this year on 6-13th July. Calliope State School are celebrating NAIDOC Week this week with playtime activities run by staff and class activities led by teachers. A big thank you to one of our parents Jodi Hallam for offering to come in to run whole cohort activities with students.
Our Prep classes will celebrate 100 Days of Prep this Thursday. Students and teachers dress up for the occasion and will take part in classroom activities.
Calliope State School’s Student Code of Conduct will be reviewed this term. Our Student Code of Conduct was developed and published in 2020 and reviewed in 2022 in consultation with staff, students and parents. This document is our school’s behaviour policy, with information about school rules, consequences and processes for addressing bullying and the use of technology. As part of the review, we will be requesting staff, student, P & C and parent input in the coming weeks around this document.

Port to Park
Are you ready to join in the fun of Port to Park this year? Registrations are now open and each person participating and nominates our school, we will receive a donation for the school.

RotaKids
We welcome a new group of RotaKids for Semester Two. They will be presented with their certificates at parade in Week 3, Friday August 1. Their first activity will be Jeans for Genes Day on Thursday 7 August. Students will be able to wear jeans to school for a gold coin donation.






Welcome back to Term 3. This is our favourite term in the library because Book Week is just around the corner!
The theme for this year’s Book Week is Book an Adventure. We will have a dress up parade on Friday of Week 6. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite story book character. Please remember that costumes must be sun safe and practical to wear for the day.
We will be sharing the shortlisted books and voting for our favourites during our library lessons.
2026 Prep Information Sessions
We will be holding an information session for parents wishing to enrol their child at Calliope State School for Prep in 2026 on Thursday 7 August. There will be a session at 9.15am and it will be repeated again at 4.30pm. A school tour is be available at 4.15pm that afternoon.
Enrolment packs will be available from 7 August as well as bookings for an enrolment interview. Inquires can be made by contacting the office on 4975 8333 or email admin@calliopess.eq.edu.au
P&C Meeting – Have Your Say!
Our next P&C Meeting will be held on Tuesday 12 August at 4:30pm in the Administration Building. We warmly invite all parents and carers to come along, get involved, and have a voice in the future of our school community.

Uniform Shop
The uniform shop operates on Fridays before the parade. Orders placed via the QKR app can be collected during this time. For any inquiries regarding the uniform shop, please email uniformshop.calliopess@gmail.com.
*Please Note:* EFTPOS is currently unavailable, so orders must be placed via the QKR app.
* QKR closes for tuckshop orders at 9 AM daily.
* If your child is sick, orders can be canceled on QKR before 9 AM.

Where: Boyne Island Library in the Castle Tower Room & Outside Play Area
Calliope Nan Playgroup
Thursdays at 9:15am – 11:15am
Where: Calliope Primary School in the Prep Room & Outside Play Area
Harmony Kids Multicultral Playgroup
Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30am - 11:30am
Where: Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct (Nutchee Building) in Gladstone
Each playgroup session offers a range of early learning & sensory activities plus plenty of opportunities for children to explore and families to connect.
We are excited to welcome new and returning families this term.
All playgroups are free to attend. Please sign in with one of our friendly team members when you arrive.
