Thank you to the Year 4 teachers for the time and effort they put into preparing for and hosting Swagtember on Friday night. Thank you to Mr Kerr, our Music Teacher, and a number of our teacher aides for supporting the Year 4 teachers and students throughout the night. Also, thank you must go to the parent volunteers who stayed to spend the evening with the children. Without the support of all of these people, the night would not have been so successful. From all reports, the children had a blast!
LOST PROPERTY
Our lost property baskets are overflowing, most of which is clothing and in particular jumpers. If your child/ren have lost items recently, I would encourage you to come and have a look before or after school.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Monday October 4, 2021 is the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday. School will resume Tuesday October 5.
PRINCIPAL PARADE
This Friday morning you are invited to join us at the end of term Principal Parade in the Hall and following Parade the classrooms will be open to celebrate the teaching and learning that has occurred throughout Term 3.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Another term has come and gone. At the end of this week the September/October term holidays are with us already! I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and restful school holiday period. Please take time to enjoy the company of family and friends. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday October 5, 2021.
Regards
Coralie Ditchmen
Acting Principal
1D, students have been learning to skip count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100. They have sung, played, painted and danced their way through learning how to skip count. They have also looked at recognising, describing and ordering Australian coins and got to look at the ‘old’ one cent Australian coin. They have also learnt to locate 2 digit numbers on number lines and enjoyed some outdoor exercise at the same time.

Welcome to Week 10 Term 3.
This week’s PBL lesson is I respect my school environment. Enjoy your holidays and we will see you fresh and ready for Term 4.
Have a lovely last week of Term 3!
Kayleigh and Christine
Swimming lessons will commence in the second week of Term 4, starting Monday 11 October 202 and concluding on Friday 10 December 2021. Students are encouraged to participate in all lessons, as these lessons align with the Australian Curriculum and contributes significantly to your child's life-long learning and water safety.
It is compulsory that students wear appropriate swimming attire - they must wear a swim shirt, togs and a swimming cap. Goggles are permissable; however, be aware, that some activities in the program expect the students to swim without the aid of goggles. For safety and hygiene reasons, jewellery is not permitted to be worn in the pool.
Some students will be anxious when it comes to swimming. It would be appreciated if you could find the time to casually question your child on their feelings about swimming. If you feel that there is something that the school should know, please inform the office before swimming starts.
Pupils will be placed in groups, according to their ability and will be taught by Mrs Betts.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30am on the back oval, students in Year 2-6 are welcome to challenge themselves on how many laps they can run. Each lap, students are required to scan their grades barcode to collect the results to see which grade runs the furthest distance. Currently in fifth place on 238 laps are the Year 2's; in fourth place on 268 laps are the Year 4's; in third place on 422 laps are the Year 5's; in second place on 484 laps are the Year 3's and in first place on 623 laps are the Year 6's.
Happy Week 10 Calliope families. We hope you all have a fantastic holiday over the next 2 weeks. Thank you for your support throughout Term 3. It is always appreciated and we look forward to using that support to give back to our school, to make our kids’ education even more amazing, engaging and meaningful. As we enter the final term of 2021 please take some time to relax, reflect and rejuvenate. Christmas will be knocking on the door soon and we are sure you’ll need your energy then.
