Tuckshop Day
This Friday is Tuckshop Day. On Tuckshop Day we take the opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of our school’s tuckshop staff and volunteers. We invite you to join us in showing your appreciation for these important members of our school community. Thank you, Lisa O, Lisa N, Mel P, Bev K, Angela K and Katy W.
The daily effo
rts of our tuckshop workers and the many volunteers who support our students and our school have been tremendous this year.
We should remember to say please and thank you every day, but on Tuckshop Day, Friday 7 November, we will say a very special thank you to this wonderful team.
Our tuckshop provides a great service that helps out families who have to juggle many different tasks at the start of each day and some good food helps the students study and play through the day.
We don’t take their hard work for granted and it is great to see
pare
nts putting up their hands and getting involved with our school. Thank you everyone.
Next Year our tuckshop is having a refurbishment, and our tuckshop staff and volunteers are excited for the launch of new facilities. At the commencement of 2026, our tuckshop will operate from an alternate space, while our current tuckshop gets its long overdue makeover. Please say thank you to all tuckshop staff and volunteers as they make plans to ensure that they continue to provide this service for our students.
2026 Class Placement Request Information
These forms are available at the office have been in the newsletter this term. The last date to return these forms for consideration if this Friday, 7 November. Please remember, class structures and classroom teacher year level allocation has not been decided – please do not request a particular teacher on these forms.
Intentions for 2026
Please keep an eye out in your child's bag for the below form in regards to your schooling intentions for 2026 year.
High School Enrolment Paperwork 2026
Please ensure that you have enrolled your students in to the high school they are attending. This will allow for the school to make plans for 2026 and ensure successful transition to the school. There are many parents that have indicated which high school students will attend, but have not begun enrolling them in the school. Please do this ASAP.
Swimming lessons at Calliope SS started this week. Please ensure your child has returned their signed swimming permission note to their classroom teacher.
For their swimming lessons, students will need-
- Togs and a swim shirt
- Swimming Cap (These can be purchased at Kmart, Big W, Sports Power, or our local pool)
- Towel
- Swimming bag
A couple of things to consider for swimming-
- Ensure all items of clothing (including underwear and socks) are clearly labelled with their name and class.
- If your child’s lesson is early in the day, I would recommend that students are dressed, ready for swimming PRIOR to arriving at school with their uniform worn over the top.
- Goggles are permitted but please ensure they fit correctly and are adjusted accordingly, and practice with your child putting them on.
- Practice independence with your child with dressing, undressing, and talk to them about the importance of neatly placing all their clothing items back in their bag to assist them in organising themselves and to limit lost belongings.
- If your child is anxious or not very confident in the water, talk to them about what will happen and their feelings and please let their teacher know if you think there is something we need to be aware of.
Preps

Our student council has been working hard towards the GEM garden which is based around gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness. The sand pit has been a success and some of the fossils have been found. However, the plants have sadly died over the holidays due to dehydration. We are trying to find some school safe cuttings/plants, and it would be extremely helpful if parents/caregivers could donate some plants/cuttings from home. Please check with the office if it is school approved in the GEM garden. Thank you all for your awareness!
Kind regards, Student Council
