Whats Happening in March -
Moira
This term we have been very busy exploring ways to work together to be healthy and happy.
Prep have investigated places that are safe to play actively. Most of the students have made sure they stay in the right place at lunch.

Year 3: Strategies for a healthy and positive school
Year 2: Strategies to keep our school healthy and safe
Year 4: Strategies for managing change. Being litter legends!
Keeping our environment healthy and safe is everyone’s responsibility.
Lots of children have been getting involved. Check out these litter legends! Has your child been helping out?
Year 5 uncovered a time capsule from 1972, after following clues left by the past students. We found out how different our school is now.
In Health, students have been noticing a lot of rubbish blowing its way to our playground from our lunchboxes again. Check out these litter legends saving our playground from being suffocated in rubbish and bacteria.
Some students like to work with numbers and tables and others like to manipulate materials.

Year Six learning about sodium and sugar in popular drink options.
What's Happening at Calliope State School
New Home Readers

The P&C have generously funded to extra needed to get two full sets of books. The packs of books have recently arrived and are ready for processing. Our Preps enjoyed looking at the new books!

This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress this term and next steps for Term 2.
Easter Hat Parade

Hi everyone! Did you see us at the polls on Saturday? What a big day we had feeding hungry voters and their families. An enormous thank you to all our volunteers for the day! Without many helpers coming forward the crew that showed up to support this fundraiser put in a huge effort for a long day of cooking and serving! And thanks to everyone who stopped by and supported us by buying a snag or two!
Don’t forget to grab your tickets in our Easter raffle! We have multiple egg hampers to be won and it will be drawn this Friday morning at the end of term Easter Hat parade in the hall. Hop to it and get your tickets via QKR, before school from Yr5&6 students or in the office.
Our school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. This is a whole school framework that promotes positive behaviour across the school to help develop safe and supportive learning environments for all students. The PBL team meets for one hour three times every term to strategise proactive approaches to ensure all students are receiving the appropriate level of support to be successful at school. We would love to have some parent representatives to attend meetings as a voice for the parent community. If you have completed your parent volunteer mandatory training and are interested in making a positive difference at our school, please reach out on the contact details below.
