Last Friday, about thirty of our Calliope students competed at the Country Coast Athletic 10-12 years trials at Boyne Island SS.

What a day our Calliope athletes had, bringing in ribbon after ribbon in both field and track events.

It was ‘edge of your seat’ competition when they announced before the sprint finals that there was only one point in it between Tannum SS and Calliope SS as to who would win the Country Coast trophy, and WOW, Calliope kids can run!!

Calliope State School were overall winners of the Country Coast Athletics Carnival 2022. This trophy has not been won by Calliope since 1994, and before that 1987.

What an awesome effort from all our athletes! Congratulations!
