Last Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon Calliope State School held its Junior Athletic carnivals. We had two fun-filled afternoons of sprints and athletic inspired rotational activities. Mrs Betts would like to give a huge shout out to the amazing Year 5 and Year 6 students who helped her out running stations at the carnivals. She was very impressed of the how confident and reliable the older students were. On Friday students in Year 3 to Year 6 participated in our school Athletics carnival. It was a great day of athletics and friendly rivalry between our house teams. Mrs Betts was very proud of the efforts and sportsmanship of all our students who took part.

The winning team of the day was Flinders. Fitzroy was awarded the Ball Games trophy for the carnival.

Students who are in the 10, 11 and 12-year age group and who placed first and second in their events now have the opportunity to participate in the Country Coast Athletic trials on Friday 10^th of June at Boyne Island State School. Notes for these trials will be sent home this week.
