In Prep D this term in English we have been learning how to identify the characters, setting and events in a different story each week. The children have also been expressing their likes and dislikes about aspects of each story. One of the books we explored was 'Clancy and Millie and the Very Fine House' by Libby Gleeson. In the story, Clancy and Millie used their imaginations to make a tower out of boxes and a train. The students then worked together in groups with Mrs Hallinan to make our own tower and train out of boxes. As you can see from the photos, they had a lot of fun doing this!

The students have also settled well into our maths rotations as part of our weekly routine. Our activities link with the number of the week that we are learning about and give the students a chance to explore other maths concepts in engaging ways. Mackai made 3 cool sharks to swim in the fish bowl. Roman carefully counted the dots on the ice-cream scoops and matched them up to the correct numeral on the cones.
