2B have been exploring poetry this term for their English unit. They have enjoyed reading the ‘Pig the Pug’ and ‘Macca the Alpaca’ series. We read together and stop to search for rhyme, alliteration and repetition. They have started rewriting nursery rhymes to keep the same syllable count, and we turned ‘Little Miss Muffet’ into ‘Little Chris Crocket’ who sat on a rocket. They will start writing their own poems this week and I can’t wait to read what they come up with.
