Last Wednesday our Calliope Girls Rugby League team competed in the Chelsea Baker Cup competition. Chelsea Baker Cup is a 9 a side all girls Rugby League competition. The competition has been modified to accommodate those girls who are new to the sport but eager to participate. Our girls participated in two weeks of skill sessions where they practised ball skills and how to tackle. For the finals, the girls competed in school teams and played off in a series of round robin games. We had a lot of fun and Mrs Betts was proud of the girl’s effort and sportsmanship.

Leah is a top in her pair, her partner is the base.

They did very well in their first competition of the year, and were awarded Honours for their 2 routines, which is the highest award.

They now qualify to compete in the Queensland team trials in April down in Brisbane. Awesome work Leah!

Port Curtis Selections
Only 10, 11 and 12 year olds are eligible for Port Curtis selection.  9 year olds competing in our School Cross Country are gaining practise for next year when they are eligible for selection. The top five students from each category are eligible to compete at the Port Curtis Cross Country trials at Benaraby State School on Friday 22^nd April.

The winners of the 9, 10, 11, 12 year old races will be presented with age champion medals.
