Father’s Day Stall

Yes! There will be a Father's Day Stall this year. We know the kids are excited to pick a meaningful gift for their Dad or special person. Details will be confirmed soon, so keep your eyes peeled in the next Newsletter and our Facebook page for more details.

Sunnies for CCS Day - 2nd September 2021

This year, our school is choosing to fundraise for Childhood Cancer Support (CCS). This charity is currently supporting one of our Calliope families by providing housing for them while their daughter receives urgent treatment for Eye Cancer. Charities likes CCS make a huge difference to families travelling through such devastating times.

For a bit of fun, Calliope State School will be having a Sunnies for CCS Day where students can purchase Sunglasses through QKR and are invited to wear them at school on Thursday 2nd of September. Keep an eye on QKR for sales to begin. We know that the family and the charity will appreciate this gesture so much and we thank you for participating, plus it’s fun and the kids will love it!

Let’s show ‘em a sea of sunnies to bring a smile to their faces!!!

Pizza Day!!!

Pizza Lunch Days are back for our students and staff. All orders are to be made on QKR BEFORE MIDDAY ON TUESDAY 24TH OF AUGUST. This is to allow our local Pizza Place time to prepare for such a large order.

Pizza Days:

• Prep – Year 2: Monday 30th of August (first break)
  
  
• Year 3 – Year 6: Monday 6th of September (first break

Calliope Rotary Trivia Night – Supporting Ronald McDonald’s House

When: 11th September at 6:30pm

• Trivia
• Raffles
• Money boards
• Food and drinks available

Profit will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. In 2020, Calliope families used their Brisbane service for approximately 288 days. We believe it is a very worthy charity to support to say thank you for helping so many families in their time of need. Please organise a table and support this Trivia Night.

Breakfast Club

Don’t forget that Miss Lisa has Breakfast Club available for free at the Tuckshop every Tuesday – Friday. All children are welcome to come down at grab something

to eat from 8:30am – 8:45am to ensure their bodies are fuelled, ready for an excellent day at school.

Tuckshop News

Tuckshop operates both breaks, Tuesday to Friday each week. Order through the QKR! app.

WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE. Our tuckshop is looking for parents or community members to help prepare our kids meals each day. If you or someone you know can volunteer some time, please chat to Lisa in the Tuckshop, or email us at pandc@calliopess.eq.edu.au 

Uniform Shop Update

All uniform items are to be ordered through the QKR! App. Please message our Facebook Page or email uniformshop.calliopess@gmail.com with any uniform shop enquiries.

Your uniform orders will be filled within 3 days of ordering by our volunteers. Thank you for your patience as we distribute your orders.

Next General Meeting: Tuesday 14th of September. Don’t forget everyone is welcome and you can become a P&C member at any meeting throughout the year.
