What's Happening in Health...
I am so lucky to work with every wonderful student at Calliope State School. There are so many smiles that brighten up our space. This term, we have fitted in a lot, learning about our health and wellbeing with adventure, competition, co-operation and most importantly; fun. Here are just a couple of activities that happened so far.
Year Five dug for historic artefacts buried “way back” in 1972. They have been learning about the influence of people and places on identities. Lots of letters told us about our past students and how so many things are different in our education.

Many grades have been working with the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and we learnt about the importance of eating a range of foods from the five food groups. I hope students are remembering to eat a range of fresh food and colours for the nutrients and vitamins our bodies need.
Year 6 measured and found out that a lot of sugar and sodium goes into some of our drinks.
Year 4 learnt how to get energy to skip well in their skipping competitions. They robbed the nest for a healthy and balanced breakfast from all 5 food groups.
It has been great fun finding ways to be healthy and active with everyone!
Kind Regards
Mrs Mastro.
