What's Happening in 5/6D...
Well, it feels like it should possibly be week 10 already with the amount of things that 5/6D have squeezed into the term so far!
There has been lots of hands on learning across all subjects in the classroom. The Year 5 students have been using the large board protractors during their introduction to measuring angles with a protractor - the size of the protractor made it easy to work with a partner to learn with each other. They are now using their small protractor independently and even playing ‘protractor golf’.
Year 6 have been learning about natural disasters in science and have replicated a volcano and the lava coming out of the side vents; created the vortex of a cyclone in a bottle and; they have also made a seismograph when learning about earthquakes.
