Stamping Out Bullying
This week our SWPBS lesson supports last Friday’s National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. Calliope State School has adopted the strategy of Stamping Out Bullying.
What is Bullying?
Bullying is when someone:
• Keeps picking on you again and again and tries to make you feel bad
• Says or does lots of mean things that upset you
• Makes fun of you a lot
• Tries to stop you from joining in or make others not like you
• Keeps hurting you such as hitting or punching you.
• Bullying can make us feel sad and not enjoy school.
Students are taught to use the following acronym might help them to remember what to do if they see someone being a bully or not treating them with respect:
• S Stay away
• T Tell someone
• A Always help
• M Make friends
• P Play nicely
Be a good friend. Let’s STAMP out bullying together!
