What's Happening in Health
Calliope students have had a healthy start to the year with a term full of healthy learning.
Prep students have been playing safely, learning about active and calm activities and locations for each.
Year 1 and 2 students have been spotting and fixing dangers and ways to keep the school healthy and safe, inside and out. Others will follow our example. Let’s keep our classrooms and playground healthy and tidy, litter legends!
Year 3 and 4 are learning about healthy lunch boxes. They have been working hard to make nude food lunchboxes full of all 5 food groups to help with ideas for you. Keep an eye out for these in the Newsletter. Mrs Mastro picked a winner to make into her lunch this week. I hope you find some that look great for you too.
The students found that the benefits of a nude food are “fun,” “we’ll see less packets and want junk food less,” we’ll eat healthy,” “we have fun making our lunch,” “we get to try different things.” There’s such a healthy buzz on Mondays.
Year 5 and 6 students are learning about drink options. There has been a lot of health information to decipher. It was impressive how the students worked together to make light work of sorting out the facts.
