FRIENDLY REMINDER  

Kind, firm boundaries are actually a big part of parenting with an attachment lens. Consider the lines on the highway, without them there would be chaos! Boundaries, like the lines on the highway, show us where we can safely operate, and without them, children often feel unsafe. 

 The second part to this reminder, is that kids are allowed to be upset about the boundaries we set. It can make them feel frustrated, or limited, angry or sad, and that’s totally valid. Being there for them to hear them out, offer comfort and support, while STILL holding that boundary is a huge part of parenting securely attached children.
