On Monday, Calliope SS took a Boys and a Girls team to compete at the Port Curtis AFL Gala Day. It has been many years since Calliope SS has competed at this competition. Our students had never played AFL before and had only started training three weeks ago. It was a fun day of new experiences! Mrs Betts was super proud of the student’s openness to try new things, and their determination and great sportsmanship on the day. A big thank you to Chappy Suriya who came and helped manage the Girl’s team on her day off. We loved having you there, and your AFL expertise by the end of the day was impressive! 

Congratulations to this little super star, kicking lots of goals this year in all kinds of sports! Summer has been selected in the Capricornia team for Rugby League.

Last Friday our Calliope SS Athletes competed at the Country Coast Zone Athletic trials. Calliope SS students were very competitive and won the Country Coast Zone trophy. Congratulations to Summer, Evan and Lilly for also winning Age Champion! Many of these athletes will now compete at the Port Curtis Athletic trials next term.
