For the P&C to deliver on the big ticket items such as upgrades to playground equipment, providing resources for each class room, school food garden, recycling program, murals and the list can go on and on, we need the support from the parents by volunteering at fundraising events, providing input/feedback on what they would like to see or change at the school and attendance to meetings.

Any contribution to our P&C is appreciated no matter how big or small. While we all have different schedules and priorities, what we all have in common is; wanting to suppPicture2.pngort our children’s education. The more hands we have, the more successful events are which in return will help keep costs to a minimum for families.

We are a small committee, made up of passionate parents. However, those passionate parents also have paid employment, families and other commitments as well but still manage to provide an hour or so to assist with making our school a better place for our children.

Our objective is to continue this great work and keep kicking goals in all areas of strategic planning, fundraising, school improvements and community engagement. We would genuinely love to hear from the school community with any thoughts or ideas you have on how we can all work together to keep making progress in these areas. You can contact us on communication.calliopess@gmail.com for our Communication Officer or pandc@calliopess.eq.edu.au for our Executive team.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

It was a beautiful day on Sunday to have a sausage sizzle at Bunnings. We are very grateful for Lee and Michael's time and sausage cooking abilities. Without these two wonderful gentlemen, it would not have happened.

 Volunteers and Classroom Support

Parents are encouraged to participate in the operation of the school through several channels.

  • Attending P&C meetings
  • Assisting in the Tuckshop or Uniform Shop
  • Providing classroom assistance ie reading groups,
  • Involvement in school activities and functions ie sports events, camps

All volunteers are required to attend a Mandatory All Staff Training program (MAST) – Parent Volunteer workshop before they are able to assist.

Completing your Volunteer mandatory training has got a lot easier. We are aware we all live busy lives and unable to commit to a particular day and time to complete the training onsite. You are now able to complete the training in the comfort of your own home and in your own time.

All you need to do is click on the link, read the key messages guide, complete the declaration and submit in person to the school office.

When you sign in as a volunteer on the Ipad, you are declaring you are aware of your obligations as per the key messages guide. This is valid for 12 months.

Have a Safe and Fun break, see you in Term 3.

Warm Regards

Geoff, Jason, Angela & Lisa
