PBL Lesson - Week 10
We are focusing on student engagement in learning. Students will be brainstorming with their class about what is engagement and what does being a learner mean? In classes, they will also be discussing what helps them learn and ways that they enjoy learning. An activity at home could be to discuss with your child about what they could do to help them learn. As we come to the end of the semester an excellent idea is to celebrate what your child enjoyed in their learning over the past semester.
Gem Chat
Who is someone you connect with? Brainstorm with your child all of the different people that they connect with and why.
The Imperfects Podcast
A podcast about how perfectly imperfect we all are. Join Hugh, Ryan and Josh for their chats with a variety of interesting people and learn how we can apply some
valuable take-aways to our own imperfect lives. The Imperfects Podcast links with The Resilience Project. Dr Em once again brought some brilliant insights to The Imperfects as they discussed harmony in relationships, and how sometimes compromising our needs to keep the peace can lead to more issues.
This is just as relevant for the parent-child dynamic, and highlights the importance of mindfulness or taking time out to look after yourself first to be able to show up better for the kids.

Take this moment to reflect on what personal needs or desires you have put on hold with the mindset “the kids come first”. As discussed in this video, putting your needs first can actually put you in a better position to then be there for your family without resentment.
Think of some tasks or activities that you’d like to do for you, and schedule them in your calendar as a non-negotiable 20 minutes or 1 hour for yourself.
