Principal's Message
Welcome to Week 9 of Term 2. Students are finalising their assessments this week and teachers are finalising report cards. Report Cards will be emailed and available on QParents next Thursday afternoon. This Friday is our final assembly for the term, with Week 10 being our Principal’s Parade followed by our Resilience Project presentation to parents/caregivers.
School Dress Code
As the cooler months are approaching us, students have been bringing their jumpers and tracksuit pants. By lunch time it is getting a bit warmer and these are being discarded. We have quite a few jumpers and tracksuit pants in our lost property. Please ask your children to have a look if they have lost their warmer clothes or when you are up next week for our Resilience Project lunch, pop past the lost property (in the undercroft) and have a look.
Resilience Project
It is only one week to go before we bring the Resilience Project to our families. Our school has been incorporating The Resilience Project into our school since the beginning of the year. In the last few weeks I have noticed the language of some of
our students begin to change from negative words to a more positive outlook on life. As a reminder, on Friday of Week Ten we are bringing the Resilience Project to our families. We will have our normal Principal’s Parade, followed by a presentation for all our families on the Resilience Project and how you can be resilient as a family. This will be followed by our open classrooms where you can see Resilience Project lessons in action. Families are then welcome to join your children for a picnic lunch on our grassed area. Rotakids have activities related to the Resilience Project in the hall during the play break. Please put this day into your calendars.
Staffing
Mrs Laura Kale has accepted a new position in a new location commencing next term. Mrs Karynne Peters has accepted a position in another school in a secondary setting which commenced this week. We wish both Laura and Karynne all the best in this next chapter of their careers. Mrs Naomi Hughes has taken some unplanned leave for the last two weeks of this term and Sheree Mastromanaco is Acting Deputy on Monday – Wednesday and Fridays for both weeks.
