Welcome to Week 6 of Term 2. This week we are acknowledging all the wonderful volunteers in our school. This year the theme for National Volunteer Week is “Something for Everyone’. National Volunteer Week recognises the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering. On Monday had a morning tea with the volunteers in our school who make our huge impact on the lives of our students. P&C Day is recognised this year on Friday 24 May. I would like to publicly thank our school’s dedicated P&C members and volunteers for their tireless work they do each year to improve educational facilities, resources and student outcomes in our school.

Calliope State School Dress Code

As the cooler months are approaching, now is the time to find our royal blue jumpers and black tracksuit pants to keep warm. A reminder that if your child is wearing tights, a skirt, shorts or skort must be worn over the top.

Hats

Before school and at each break we have multiple students coming to the office asking for spare hats. We ask that all students come to school with a hat so they can enjoy outside play.

Parent and Community Code of Conduct

Parents and other visitors to schools support safety by ensuring their communications and conduct at the school and school activities is respectful.

Approaching other students in the school grounds to discuss concerns with them is not appropriate in any school. Approaching staff aggressively is not appropriate. Please refer to the Parent and Community Code of Conduct and request a meeting to discuss any concerns about your child’s education – allowing staff time to prepare and appreciating our time may be limited.
