Report Cards
Please check your email addresses for your child’s academic report card for Semester
Please be sure to add Application.ONESCHOOL@qed.qld.gov.au to your list of safe senders to ensure report card emails aren’t sent to the Junk folder.
A reminder that in line with the modified schooling due to COVID-19 students have only been assessed on units of work that they have been taught and completed at school.
This semester’s reports include:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Health and Physical Education
- Music
Students in Years 1-6 have received a level of achievement grade and commentary to match what they have learnt in the semester and a future focus. Prep students have only received commentary on their learning (no marks have been allocated).
No behaviour or effort marks will be included.
Teachers have used results from Term 1 and short units of study in the above subject areas from when students returned to school.
Arriving at School
We would like to remind parents and students to arrive as close to the start of the school day as possible. The first bell rings at 9:00am with formal learning beginning at 9:10am. Students will remain seated in the Undercroft until 8:30am. Students will only be allowed to access the oval from 8:30am. The Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 gate will open at this time also (8:30am). If the gate is closed and no adult is present, entry must be via the main office entry. Please leave the gates closed. A staff member will open them.
Early Departures
We would like to remind families that signing students out early should be the exception rather than the norm and that a valid reason needs to be provided. Our office staff are being overwhelmed with a massive increase in the number of early sign outs. We understand that this is sometimes unavoidable. Please consider if an early sign out is essential.
Learning Walls
As part of our Reading Improvement Journey we are focussing on the use of
“Learning Walls” in our classrooms. We would like to encourage you to talk with your child about their reading goals and what their strategies are to help them reach their goal. The Leadership Team look forward to visiting classrooms this term. Our visits focus around five key questions:
- What are you learning?
- How are you doing?
- How do you know?
- How can you improve?
- Where can you go for help?
Feedback
We are always open to feedback as this helps our school to continuously grow and improve. There are many appropriate ways to provide feedback to our school and we appreciate the time and effort people have taken to ensure they are using these avenues. At the moment we have modified some of our avenues for providing feedback. The most effective way in this present situation is to email our admin@calliopess.eq.edu.au email address or via a phone call.
Kindest Regards,
Rebecca Crapp
