PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Week Eight of Term One. This week students in Years 3 and 5 commence participation in NAPLAN. A reminder that there will be no assembly this Friday. At assembly last week, Smiley was our Mystery Person. Each week there is a mystery person who is checking the classes to see which class is doing their best on assembly. Smiley, our PBL Mascot has been absent for quite some time and has come back to us with a huge makeover. Smiley has also come back to us wearing our Calliope State School uniform. We did need to let Smiley know that his shorts were the wrong colour. Smiley is looking into getting black shorts so that he has the correct uniform. We will be seeing more of Smiley as he assists us with our Positive Behaviour for Learning agenda.

Equityand Excellence

In Term 2, our school will be participating in the 2024 Australian Early Development Census (AEDC). The data collection is open from 1 May to 21 June.

With data collections occurring triennially since 2009, we are proud of our collective efforts in consistently achieving 100% state school participation in every data collection to date.

There is an increased focus on the quality of data in the upcoming 2024 collection, given the importance of AEDC data to whole-of-government strategic targets.

This is a critical time for our Prep teachers and we will work together as a school community to provide the support they need to participate in this important data collection.

School Review

Every four years a school has a review. Our school review will be in Week Three of Term Two. Parents and Caregivers play an important part in a school review. Please see the information sheet below for more information on how you can participate in our school review.
