Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Week 8 is here and the holidays are fast approaching. The Positive Behaviour for Learning lesson this week is: Respectful – Following Teacher Instructions Straight Away. There are many reasons why a teacher will give an instruction, yet students do not always understand why, which is why it is best if they develop the habit of following teacher instructions straight away. Here are a few examples of the ‘why’:

- A teacher may see a situation arising and asks you to move before an issue occurs;

- A teacher may know that you need a little take up time before transitioning so they will give an instruction to stay or move while others are doing something else; or,

- A teacher may see that your mood is changing, a change that you are not conscious of, and give an instruction to help avoid an escalation.

Teachers do not give instructions for the sake of giving instructions, there is always a reason and students can help by following them immediately. Please take the time to go over this with your child/children.

With social distancing measures still being adhered to, Fantastic Fun Friday will be in the classroom. Each class will be deciding on their reward activity for completing their Stamp Chart this term. Please remind your child/children to get their Stamp Chart in to the office.

Oh, and please watch Calliope News on Facebook this week and help like and share it.

Thanks.
