Welcome to week 2 in term 1. The Positive Behaviour for Learning lesson this week is: Safe – Lunchtime routines. At Calliope State School we play before eating so that our bodies are rested and calm before they go back to class to engage in learning. We also have designated areas for students to play in, so we don’t have big kids playing with the little ones and perhaps being too big for their games. When speaking to your child about lunchtime routines, please emphasis:

• We make sure we take a hat out to play so that we are safe from the sun;
• We walk on the concrete before we get to the oval;
• All students stay in their designated area;
• And we go to the toilet and get a drink when instructed by our teachers.

Please take a moment to go over these routines with your child/children.

For those new to the school, every three weeks we celebrate student behaviour with an event called Fantastic Fun Friday. If your student fills in their Stamp Chart for displaying Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviour, they will get to come along and join in the fun. Below are some pictures from last years events.
