Hello everyone! We had another wonderful and constructive P&C meeting last night. Some topics we discussed include; funding for camps and excursions (including Eisteddfod), some fundraising opportunities, Yr 6 graduation ceremony, some preliminary comments from the school survey (don’t forget to complete yours, it closes today), school improvements that have been completed, school improvements that leadership are working towards, and other suggestions and opportunities for improvement around resources and infrastructure.

Unfortunately, due to the increase costs of stock and shipping, we have to raise the cost of school uniform shirts. We cannot afford to support our student’s educational endeavours if the uniform shop is running at a loss. From August 1^st ALL school, sports and performance shirts will cost $35.00. So don’t put off ordering shirts if you need them, if you want to beat the increase.

Thanks to all the families who placed orders in our Pie and Lamington Drive! Every order, large and small, helps us contribute financially to school ventures such as transport costs for excursions and camps. We will send out reminders for pie collection dates in the newsletter and on our Facebook page (don’t forget to follow us) as the dates approach.

Did you know we are part of the Drakes Community Dollars program? Remember when we used to have key tags to scan when we made purchases at Calliope Drakes Supermarket? Now you can download the myDrakes app to your smart phone, select Calliope SS to support through the Community Dollars program and scan your phone when you shop in store. What an easy way to help raise funds for our school!

Do your children enjoy getting Tuckshop? Maybe they get it once per week or once per fortnight or once in a blue moon?! We have some wonderful parents who volunteer in the tuckshop on a regular basis and other wonderful parents who just pop in when they can. And we appreciate them all! It’s been great to see some new faces volunteering in the Tuckshop already this term. You would be amazed how big of a help it is to have a parent volunteer to spend half an hour sticking order labels onto brown paper bags! Maybe you’re happy to pour out warm Milo into paper cups in the mornings from 8:30-9:00am? Or construct snack cups from the range of ingredients that are already prepared and cut and ready to be popped into a plastic cups for some hungry bellies?! If you can spare any time Tuesdays to Fridays, we would love to hear from you. And let us know what suits you!
