Calliope State School's Wide World of Sport
Congratulations to our Calliope Netball team for their awesome efforts at the CQ Regional Shield Competition in Rockhampton last Thursday and Friday. It was a fun two days of competitive netball and our girls played like champions! We placed 17th overall out of 36 teams and brought home the CQRS plate. Their team work and sportsmanship were commendable!
Thank you to Celisa Faulkner for being our dedicated umpire for the two days!
Thank you to the parents for getting the girls to the venue and extending the great sportsmanship off the court.
Thank you to the organisers of CQ Regional Shield for another year of sporting fun and great competition!
It was an outstanding effort and performance from our students considering they had only started learning how to play volleyball 12 days before the competition. The teachers were so proud of seeing their skills develop over this time and over the day itself! We were super proud of their team work and great sportsmanship. What a day and what a team! Thank you so much to Miss Heather, Miss Green and all our amazing parent coaches who supported our teams and kept the positive sportsmanship going throughout the day. Calliope won first place in all three age divisions!
