We are off to a great start in 6A!

We have two teachers this term! Miss Williams joins us from Curtin University, doing her final internship before she becomes a teacher. She has been sharing her love of music, dance and yoga when we need a brain break. 6A love our safe and positive learning environment, where we can identify and communicate how we are feeling using the Zones of Regulation by going to a regulation station if required. These are two spaces in the classroom, full of activities that help us look after ourselves when we need a 5 minute break. We love doing some yoga when we feel very energetic, and need help focusing. There’s also a relaxing, “quiet space” for when we need some time to ourselves and are struggling to focus in the classroom setting. 6A are already well underway with our English unit on ‘Short Stories’ and have been looking at language features, plot, themes and characterisation. Science had 6A exploring a type of goop to identify the state of matter that it was. It’s been a very busy start to the term.
