What's Happening in 6C

This term in 5C, we have made learning engaging and fun by being more hands-on. In Science we went outside to understand how planets orbited the sun and why each planet took a different amount of time to orbit. Students lined up in a line next to our sun (tree) and pretended to be planets, they counted how many steps it took to orbit the sun and how many times they circled the sun. We compared the data that each student collected by asking questions from planets (students) closest and furthest from the sun. In Maths we discovered the properties of 3D shapes, we got creative by cutting out nets and figuring out how to string the shapes so students could manipulate them into both the shape and net. We also spent time navigating around the school in particular the playground with a focus on using directional language. Students had a great time trying to direct Miss Philp around play equipment without hitting anything but mistakes happened and it was very funny to watch Miss Philp run into things.
