P&C News
Hello everyone! What a big week we have had! Such a big thank you goes out to the wonderful volunteers who put their hands up over the last week and a half; at both the Tuckshop tent at the Athletics Carnival on Friday and Pizza Day the last two Mondays. Also, thanks to the lovely Tuckshop ladies who held the forte in the Tuckshop for the Prep-2 orders and supported the tent volunteers all day on Friday! Our Fundraising ventures would not be possible without all your support and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who lends a hand! All of our children benefit from each successful event, with all money raised being directly invested back into our children’s learning journeys.
Another avenue that we use to access funding is through applying for Community Grants. We are so fortunate to have Celisa Faulkner as our very talented and committed Grants Officer. Celisa is in her 7th year as part of our school community and this is the 2nd year that she has nominated herself for this important role in our P&C. In this role, the Grants Officer collaborates with the school’s Business Manager and Principal to submit funding grants available to community groups for specific or large improvements. Celisa has been instrumental in applying for numerous grants ranging from $500 to $75000 for anything from school supplies and equipment, infrastructure and student experiences and excursions.
As a Civil Engineer, Celisa’s grant submissions are extremely thorough and professional and we extend her a huge thank you for the effort and time she allocates to preparing these grant applications for the benefit of the whole school community.
Next Tuesday June 13th is our next P&C Meeting; at 5:30pm in the Administration building. Please consider coming along! These meetings are a fantastic collaboration between the school’s leadership team, P&C executive members and P&C general members. You can become a member at any meeting to have a say on topics that are important to you or to just be informed about what’s happening around our school. You definitely do not need to leave a meeting with a job or a time consuming commitment! We constructively exchange ideas and concerns, solve problems and even have a good time and laugh!!
