This term 4B has settled back quickly into learning after the Easter break. Students are doing a wonderful job of following our classroom rules and the school’s expectations and have been working hard towards understanding new concepts in all learning areas.

In English we are working towards writing a Historical Recount of events that occurred during the colonisation of Australia which will be delivered as a speech. We are reading a book called Eliza Bird and another historical journal entry that will be used to assess our comprehension of the two historical texts.

In HASS we continue to learn about the First Fleet and the changes that occurred due to the colonisation of Australia. We will learn about laws and rules and why they are important and will transfer our knowledge in HASS to understand and write our recount in English.

In Science we are learning about materials and their purposes. We will be looking at different materials and how they can be changed to suit a purpose. Students will investigate the properties affecting the use of ochre, connecting English, HASS and Science learning together.

In Math we have already looked at identifying odd and even numbers and completed our first Assessment Task for the Term. We have now started to look at interpreting simple maps and will continue to learn our multiplication and division facts.
